F1 is great for me but with only 18 races I spend allot of the year with nothing to do but research. This is not such a bad thing as I work full time (mon-fri, 9-5) and F1 alone takes up much of my spare time. So I’ve decided these are the criteria for the sport/market I need.
- Ideally a sport televised in the UK/Sky
- Preferably a sport I would enjoy following and watching (there’s no point if you don’t enjoy it!)
- Has to have adequate liquidity. Doesn’t have to be massive but enough to get matched when needed.
- The event is outside of work hours – evenings or weekends - and not on too late so that rules out most
- It is tradable! Some sports/markets don’t lend themselves to trading
To help me decide has anyone got any suggestions? Don’t worry, I’m not after tips or trading strategies! I’m just interested to here what sports people are trading and the pros/cons for each. Feel free to leave a comment or e-mail: mail@flutterfly.co.uk

Twenty20 Cup Cricket.
- 100 games in just over 6 weeks.
- Evening starts - usually 5.30pm-ish?
- Televised.
- Shorter format won't ruin your social life!
- Format leads to volatility, good for trading.
- Excellent liquidity on Cricket.
- Loads of stats available.
So I guess it depends on whether you like Cricket!
Totally agree with f1punter. Was exactly what I was about to suggest. Barring cricket you could try tennis or my favourite Sunday night pastime, the NFL :) Will be a while before the season starts mind :(

Being a NYG fan, I am missing the NFL!
I have always wondered about cricket trading. To be honest it’s a sport I have never followed and I don’t even know the rules. The fact it’s an all day event always put me off but the Twenty20 could be interesting so I will have to look into it. Only problem is it’s another summer sport (which I guess most of them are) so I would still be ‘jobless’ during the winter.
